Poe pricing, use cases, and first steps

Poe is an app that gives you access to many AI models in one place: those from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and Meta, plus tools that create images, videos, or music. Each AI is called a “bot.” Each answer uses points, drawn from one balance shared by all bots.

Poe has a free plan. Prices checked on October 3, 2026 on the vendor’s official page.

What Poe does

Who it’s for: curious people who want to try several AI models, including on their phone, without subscribing to each one.

Switch from one model to another

You choose the bot at the start of the conversation, the way you pick a contact. The official bots come from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and Meta.

Call a second bot into the same conversation

Type @ followed by a bot’s name to bring it in without opening a new conversation. You compare the answers on the same page.

Create images, videos, and audio

Poe also brings together creative tools: FLUX, Ideogram, and Stable Diffusion for images, Runway, Luma, Hailuo, and Pika for video, plus voice and music tools.

Also

  • Create your own bot
  • Group conversations
  • Temporary conversations
  • Memory, on only if you want it

Poe pricing

Prices in euros taken from the French App Store listing on October 3, 2026. On the web, Poe shows its prices in dollars and also offers higher plans, which we could not view. Unused points do not roll over.

PlanPriceWho it’s for
Basic€5.99 per month in the iPhone app, or €59.99 per yearRegular use, mostly text
Plus€22.99 per month in the iPhone app, or €229.99 per yearDaily use, with images
Extra points$30 for 1 million points, valid for one yearSubscribers who go over their allowance

What the free plan includes

A free account gets points every day, reset every 24 hours, with no rollover. Poe does not publish how many. Enough for a few text questions, not for video.

Nova’s advice

Stay on the free plan to explore and compare. If your daily points go too fast, the Basic plan is enough for text. Don’t choose Poe for video: it empties your balance in a few tries. Subscribe where you plan to manage the subscription: you can only manage it on the platform where you bought it (web, iPhone, or Android).

A first try, in 5 minutes

Your data. Your conversations are passed to the AI vendors and to bot creators; your name and email are not.

What it does less well

  • You don’t get everything the original tools offer: features specific to the ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini apps are not carried over to Poe.
  • Points are hard to predict. Each bot has its own rate, video is very expensive, and daily points are lost if you don’t use them.
Ask two bots the same questionPoe
  1. Open poe.com and choose an official text bot.
  2. Write your request in the input field, then send it.
  3. In the same conversation, type @ followed by another bot’s name and ask the question again.
  4. Compare the two answers, and look at how many points each one cost.

The prompt to copy

Summarize these committee meeting minutes in five points, then list the action items with the owner’s name and the due date.
