Ask a question about the open page

Comet is a web browser, like Chrome or Safari, made by Perplexity. What sets it apart: an assistant opens next to the page you are reading. It summarizes the page, answers questions about your open tabs, and can, if you ask, click and fill out a form for you.
Comet has a free plan. The recommended plan to start with: Free, $0. Prices checked on October 3, 2026 on the vendor’s official page.
Who it’s for: people who spend their day in web pages: keeping up with news, comparing suppliers, preparing for meetings, repetitive forms.
The Assistant panel reads the visible text of the page and answers your questions about it. You have nothing to copy or paste.
One shortcut is all it takes to get a summary of what is on screen: article, video, PDF.
The Assistant can take several open tabs into account. You point to them with @ followed by the tab name. It compares, groups, and summarizes.

Perplexity publishes its prices in dollars. A Max plan is also available for individuals: see the Perplexity page. As checked on October 4, 2026, for Comet’s agent with Pro: the pricing page and the plan guide list limited monthly access, with no number; the credits page says “Work” mode uses Computer credits, and Pro receives only 4,000, one time. We report both: rely on what your account shows. The Enterprise plan prices date from our check on October 3.
| Plan | Price | Who it’s for |
|---|---|---|
| Free Recommended to start | $0 | Discovering Comet and using it to read, summarize, and compare |
| Pro | $20 per month, or $200 per year | You want the Assistant to act on sites for you |
| Enterprise Pro | $40 per user per month, or $400 per year | Companies |
| Enterprise Max | $325 per user per month, or $3,250 per year | Heavy use in a company |
The browser is free and can be used even without an account. In “Search” mode, the Assistant does not use credits. According to the help center, the agent that acts for you is not included in the free plan.
Start for free: reading, summarizing, and comparing tabs costs nothing. Only choose Pro if you regularly hand tasks to the Assistant, and always check which mode is selected before sending. For company data, the right route is an Enterprise plan decided by your employer.
Your data. A browser with an assistant sees what you see. Comet keeps your history, tabs, and passwords on the device, and sends Perplexity only the content needed for your request.
