What Intercom (Fin) does
Who it’s for: customer service teams and companies that get a lot of repetitive questions by live chat or email.
Fin answers customers on its own
Fin reads the customer’s question and answers from your content: help articles, documents, pages of your site. When it can’t find the answer, it says so and hands the conversation to the team. It works over live chat, email, WhatsApp, SMS, social media, Slack, and phone.
Instructions in plain language
You write as you would to a colleague: the tone to use, the topics to avoid, how to present a goodwill gesture. Fin applies these instructions in all its answers.
Procedures: handle a request from start to finish
A procedure (“Procedure”) describes the steps of a complete task: check an order, start a refund, change an account. Fin follows them, fetching information from your other systems, then wraps up or hands off.

Nova’s advice
Before paying, do the math: number of simple questions per month, multiplied by $0.99. Compare that with the time the team spends on them. Start with the 14-day trial with Fin limited to your colleagues, and only get unlimited Copilot for agents who exceed the 10 included conversations.

Your data. Companies can have a workspace hosted in Europe, and AI then processes the data in Europe.
What it does less well
Fin is only as good as your help center. Missing, outdated, or contradictory articles lead to wrong answers or a string of handoffs.
The bill is hard to predict. A request also counts as handled when the customer leaves without replying for 24 hours: they weren’t necessarily satisfied.
Have Copilot draft a replyIntercom (Fin)
In the Intercom inbox, open a conversation with a customer.
In the right-hand panel, click the “Copilot” tab. You can also highlight a sentence from the customer and click “Ask Copilot.”
Paste the prompt below, adapting it to the customer’s question.
Copilot answers and shows its sources: public articles, internal articles, past conversations. Hover over them to check.
Click “Add to composer”: the answer lands in your message. Reread it, adjust the tone, then send.
