Lexis+ with Protégé pricing, use cases, and first steps
Lexis+ with Protégé has been the new name of Lexis+ AI since May 2026. It is professional software for legal practitioners: the LexisNexis research library (court decisions, codes, JurisClasseur encyclopedias, document templates) and an assistant, Protégé. You ask a legal question in French, and it answers with cited sources, drafts text, and summarizes your documents.
Lexis+ with Protégé has no free plan. The recommended plan to start with: Lexis+ with Protégé subscription, custom pricing. Prices checked on October 3, 2026 on the vendor’s official page.

What Lexis+ with Protégé does
Who it’s for: lawyers, notaries, in-house counsel, CPAs, and the legal departments of public agencies, when their organization subscribes to Lexis+.
Ask a legal question, with sources
You write your question the way you would ask a colleague. Protégé answers in a few structured paragraphs and cites its sources: LexisNexis statutes, decisions, encyclopedias, and practice notes. Each source opens so you can check it.
Draft a legal text
Protégé prepares a first version: memo, letter, email, argument, contract clause. You then have it shortened, sharpened, or reworded. It can adapt to your profile and your writing style.
Summarize a decision or a document
You get the essentials of a court decision or a long document in seconds: the facts, the question raised, the ruling. Useful for sorting through twenty decisions before reading the three that matter.

Nova’s advice
Don’t pay anything out of pocket: this tool is bought at the organization level. If your company or firm already subscribes to Lexis+, ask whether your account includes Protégé. If you’re a freelancer, ask for a demo before you commit, and compare with another French legal database.
A first try, in 5 minutes

What it does less well
No self-service trial and no public price. Without a subscription from your organization, you can’t try it on your own.
The name change is recent: LexisNexis announces the release of Lexis+ with Protégé in France for September 2026, and Lexis+ AI customers are moving to it gradually. Some screens may still show the old name.

Read the answer, then open each cited source: code article, decision, practice note. Check that the text really says what the answer claims.
Ask a follow-up question to narrow down your case, for example your collective bargaining agreement. A counter shows how many questions you have left in the conversation.
The prompt to copy
What is the maximum length of the probationary period for a manager-level employee (cadre) on a permanent contract (CDI), and under what conditions can it be renewed? Cite the articles of the French Labor Code and recent case law.
