Ordalie pricing, use cases, and first steps

Ordalie is a French legal assistant. It is a specialist tool: you ask a legal question in plain language, it searches several million official texts (codes, statutes, court decisions, official tax guidance, the French data protection authority, CNIL) and answers with a link to each source. It also analyzes your contracts and helps you draft. You can try it on your own, for free, without a card.

Ordalie has a free plan. The recommended plan to start with: Ordalie, €0 per user per month. Prices checked on October 3, 2026 on the vendor’s official page.

What Ordalie does

Who it’s for: lawyers, notaries, and in-house counsel, but also an HR manager, a buyer, or a small business owner who wants to check a rule before calling their legal adviser.

Sourced legal research

You describe the situation, and Ordalie finds the texts and decisions that apply and writes an answer. Each point links to its source: article number, court, date of the decision, link to the official text. The database is updated every day.

Analysis of your documents

You import a contract or supporting documents and ask your questions about them: summarize, spot risky clauses, compare two versions, build a timeline. Ordalie reads PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and text files.

Automatic anonymization

Before the analysis, Ordalie can mask the information that identifies people and companies: names, addresses, amounts, dates. You work on the substance of the document without exposing the parties.

Also

  • Drafting in the editor
  • Ordalie in Word
  • Ordalie in Outlook
  • Choose and add your sources
  • “Vault” and company documents

Ordalie pricing

Prices exclude tax. Monthly plans have no commitment. Yearly billing gives a 10% discount. Lawyers of the Paris Bar get a discount. For the “Vault” module and on-premises installation, another page of the site mentions a custom enterprise plan.

What the free plan includes

Ten questions per week with cited sources, three imported documents, two websites added as sources, and seven days of history. No card and no end date.

Nova’s advice

Start with the free plan: ten questions per week are enough to judge the quality of the answers on your real topics. Move to PRO if law is your job or if you analyze contracts every week. If you are an employee, ask the company to take the subscription rather than paying for it yourself.

What it does less well

  • Ordalie reports a rate of made-up errors below 1%, not zero. An answer can cite a text that does not apply to your case: always open the source.
  • The tool does not replace a lawyer. It prepares the work: characterizing the facts, choosing a strategy, and committing the company remain human decisions.
Ask a real legal question and check the answerOrdalie
  1. Log in to Ordalie in your browser.
  2. Paste the prompt below into the message box and send it.
  3. Read the answer. Spot the references: article numbers, dates, and decision citations.
  4. Click two or three sources to open the official text. Check that it really says what the answer claims.
  5. Give the details of your case in a follow-up question: the length of the relationship, the revenue involved, what the contract provides.

The prompt to copy

We want to stop working with a supplier we have had a regular relationship with for ten years, with no written contract. What notice period do we have to give, and what are the risks if we stop overnight? Cite the articles and the case law.
