Shine pricing, use cases, and first steps

Shine is business software: a French online business account for freelancers and small businesses, with a card, invoicing, and expense tracking. It has no AI assistant. What it does on its own is simpler: read a receipt, detect the VAT, match a payment to the right invoice, and send a reminder to a customer who is late.

Shine has a free plan. The recommended plan to start with: Start, €9 excl. tax, per month, paid yearly (€11 with no commitment). Prices checked on October 3, 2026 on the vendor’s official page.

What Shine does

Who it’s for: sole proprietors, freelancers, and small companies that want their account and their invoices in the same app.

A business account with a French IBAN and a card

You get a French IBAN and a Mastercard. You make your transfers, direct debits, and payments from the app. Each plan includes a number of transfers and direct debits per month.

Quotes and invoices linked to the account

You create as many quotes and invoices as you like, in your brand colors. When the customer pays, Shine matches the payment to the invoice on its own, with its VAT. Unpaid invoices get automatic reminders, based on your settings.

Paying an invoice by card

The customer can pay your invoice by transfer or directly by card. The money arrives in your account right away. Card payment is only offered for invoices under €500.

Also

  • Photographed receipts and VAT detected
  • Electronic invoicing
  • Sub-accounts for setting money aside
  • The export for your accountant
  • Team expenses

What the free plan includes

The Free plan has no subscription: an account with a French IBAN, unlimited quotes and invoices, receipts, exports, and electronic invoicing. Starting October 5, 2026, it includes 3 transfers or direct debits per month (€0.50 excl. tax each after that) and a virtual card. The physical card costs €7 excl. tax in shipping fees.

Nova’s advice

With only 3 transactions per month, the Free plan suits a very quiet business or a trial. As soon as you have customers and expenses every month, Start is the right place to begin. If you already have a bank and only want to invoice, look at Shine Facture, which has a free plan.

What it does less well

  • No AI assistant to ask a question about your accounts. Automation is limited to receipts, VAT, reminders, and matching payments to invoices.
  • Paying an invoice by card only works for invoices under €500.
Create and send an invoice from ShineShine
  1. On a computer, open the invoicing section and choose to create an invoice. On a phone: the invoices tab, the + button, then create an invoice.
  2. Choose an existing customer or create a new one.
  3. Give the invoice a title, then add a line to describe the work and its price.
  4. Set the issue date, the payment date, and the accepted payment method, then save the invoice.
  5. Assign the invoice number. Numbers must follow one another, with no gaps.
  6. Choose to send it with Shine. You will be notified when the customer opens the invoice and when they pay.
