What tl;dv does

Who it’s for: Teams that want to keep the video of their meetings and share clips from it: sales reps, recruiters, product teams, managers.

Record the meeting on video, with the bot

The tl;dv bot joins the video call as a participant, visible to everyone. It records picture and sound, and writes out the conversation with each speaker’s name.

Record without a bot

The desktop app captures your computer’s audio in the background. No extra participant appears in the meeting. So it is up to you to tell the others.

Notes linked to the video

tl;dv summarizes the meeting by topic. Each point links to the moment it was discussed: one click, and the video resumes at that spot. You can change templates if the summary misses the essentials.

Also

  • Video clips to share
  • Ask questions of one or several meetings
  • Fill in the CRM
  • Ask for consent before recording
  • Record an in-person meeting

What the free plan includes

Recordings and transcripts with no limit on number, kept for 3 months. Full written notes on your first 10 meetings; after that, only on the first 10 minutes of each meeting. 10 questions to the assistant, 10 reports, 4 video clips, and 5 imported files.

Nova’s advice

Start with the free plan: it is enough to record and find your meetings. Move to Pro once your first 10 meetings are behind you and you miss the full notes, or when you want to fill in your CRM automatically.

What it does less well

  • The free plan tightens quickly: after your first 10 meetings, only the first 10 minutes are summarized. Recordings are deleted after 3 months.
  • On the free plan, the video is archived after 3 days. Reopening it can take up to an hour and a half. The transcript and the notes stay readable.
Record a meeting and share the clip that matterstl;dv
  1. Tell the participants that the meeting will be recorded, and check that no one objects.
  2. On the tl;dv home page, click “Record now” and paste the link to your Zoom, Google Meet, or Teams meeting.
  3. The bot asks to join: the host has to admit it. On Google Meet, if it is flagged as a risk, open the three-dot menu and choose “Admit.”
  4. During the meeting, click the pin icon whenever a moment matters. At the end, click the stop button and confirm.
  5. Open the recording: the notes are to the left of the video, and each point links to the right moment.
  6. In the transcript tab, highlight an important sentence, click “Create clip,” then “Copy link” to send it to a colleague.
  7. At the bottom of the page, in “Ask tl;dv AI,” paste the prompt below.

The prompt to copy

List the decisions made and the action items, with an owner for each. For each point, give the moment in the meeting when it was discussed.
