Omni builds the app for you
You describe what you need in a few sentences. Omni creates the tables, columns, screens, and automations. You then make corrections by talking to it: “add a Due date column.”
Airtable is a team database that looks like a spreadsheet: rows and columns, but also links between tables, forms, and custom screens. Its assistant, Omni, builds the app from a description, answers questions about your data, and edits rows. “Field agents” fill in a column by themselves: sorting, summarizing, searching the web.
Airtable has a free plan. The recommended plan to start with: Free, $0. Prices checked on October 3, 2026 on the vendor’s official page.
Who it’s for: Teams that keep living lists together: requests, inventory, job applications, campaigns, contracts. Especially when the shared Excel file is no longer enough.

Omni reads the base and answers: a total, a trend, a filtered list. It can also look something up on the web, create rows, or edit them when you ask. It only sees what you are allowed to see.
A column handed over to AI. For each row, the agent reads the other columns and writes the result: a category, a summary, an amount, a piece of information found on the web. It can run on demand or whenever a row changes.

Up to 1,000 rows per base, 5 editors, 1 GB of attachments per base, and 100 automation runs per month. Omni is included, with 500 AI credits per month per editor.
Start for free: 1,000 rows and 500 credits are enough to build a first tracker with Omni and see whether the team adopts it. Move to Team when you go past 1,000 rows or when you want field agents every day. Keep in mind that the price is counted per editor: a team of ten adds up quickly.

What it does less well
The prompt to copy
Build an app to track quote requests. For each request: the customer, the date received, the estimated amount, the sales rep in charge, and the status (Received, Quote sent, Followed up, Won, Lost). Add a screen that shows the requests by status.
