What Apollo.io does

Who it’s for: sales reps looking for new customers, especially abroad, and small teams with no budget for a contact database.

Search the contact directory

You filter by job title, industry, company size, or country. Apollo shows the people who match, with their work email and sometimes their phone number. The directory holds more than 240 million contacts and 30 million companies.

The assistant that runs every step

You describe your goal in one sentence. The assistant finds the contacts, fills in their details, ranks them, and prepares the emails, all in the same conversation. It asks for your approval before any action that uses credits.

Research every company on a list

You ask a question, and AI answers it for each row of your list, in a new column. Each answer costs one credit. A free preview lets you check the quality before running it on the whole list.

Also

  • Prospecting sequences
  • Write an email, reply, or subject line
  • The extension: contact details as you browse
  • Prepare and summarize your meetings

What the free plan includes

The free plan gives access to the directory, sequences with a Gmail inbox, the extension, and the AI assistant, limited to 5 conversations per month. After one hundred days of use, it is limited to a single user. You cannot buy extra credits without moving to a paid plan.

Nova’s advice

Stay on the free plan as long as you only prospect now and then: it is enough to judge the quality of the contacts in your industry. Before you pay, test twenty contacts and check how many emails are correct. Credits do not roll over from one month to the next: do not buy more than you need.

A first try, in 10 minutes

Your data. Apollo stores data in the United States and feeds its directory with its users’ contacts: something to know before you connect your email.

What it does less well

  • No directory is 100% accurate. People have changed jobs, emails no longer work. Check a sample before an important send.
  • Everything is paid for in credits, and unused credits are lost at the end of the month. AI research on 10 contacts and 3 columns already costs 30 credits.
Ask the assistant for a list of prospectsApollo.io
  1. Log in to Apollo and click “AI Assistant,” visible from every page.
  2. Describe your target in plain language, with the prompt below. Adjust the job title, the industry, and the company size.
  3. Read the suggested list. Ask the assistant to narrow it down, for example “only in the Paris region.”
  4. Before saving the contacts, the assistant tells you how many credits will be used. Check the number, then accept or shorten the list.
  5. In the same conversation, ask for a first outreach email. Reread it: nothing should go out without you.
