Turn text into speech
You paste a text, choose a voice, and click. Two sliders, “Stability” and “Similarity,” set whether the voice is steadier or more expressive.
ElevenLabs makes synthetic voices. You paste a text, choose a voice, and get a recording that sounds like a voice actor’s. It can also dub a video into another language, transcribe a recording, and read your documents aloud on your phone.
ElevenLabs has a free plan. The recommended plan to start with: Starter, $6 per month. Prices checked on October 3, 2026 on the vendor’s official page.
Who it’s for: people who produce videos, training, or presentations and have neither a studio nor a voice actor on hand.
You paste a text, choose a voice, and click. Two sliders, “Stability” and “Similarity,” set whether the voice is steadier or more expressive.
The voice model released in late September 2026 conveys emotions better. You can slip an acting cue in brackets into the text, for example [whispers] for a whisper or [laughs] for a laugh.
You provide a video or an audio file. It translates the speech and says it again in the other language, keeping each person’s voice. It accepts a file up to 2 GB and 180 minutes, or a link to an online video.

ElevenLabs publishes its prices in dollars. Credits per plan checked on October 4, 2026 on the pricing page; there, ElevenLabs gives the benchmark of 1,000 credits for one minute of voice. The same page shows 3 Studio projects for the free plan; the vendor’s help center still says 5. The first month is discounted until October 18, 2026 (Starter at $1, Creator at $11). On the French App Store, Creator costs €25.00 per month or €249.99 per year. Unused credits roll over, up to a limit of two months. ElevenReader has its own subscription, Ultra: $11 per month or $99 per year.

10,000 credits per month, or 10 minutes of voice according to ElevenLabs. Access to the voice library, dubbing, and Studio with a watermark. No commercial use rights, and you must credit ElevenLabs when you publish a recording.
Try it for free to choose your voices. As soon as the recording serves your company (a published video, training, advertising), get at least Starter: the free plan does not give you that right. Move to Creator if you run short of credits or want a professional clone of your voice.
Every text read aloud costs credits: plan on 1,000 credits for one minute of voice.
