Harvey is an AI platform reserved for law firms and in-house legal teams. It is a professional tool: you ask it legal questions, hand it thousands of documents to analyze, and have it prepare draft contracts or memos, with references to the sources. It is bought for a whole organization, not for personal use.
Harvey has no free plan. The recommended plan to start with: Organization contract, custom pricing. Prices checked on October 3, 2026 on the vendor’s official page.

What Harvey does
Who it’s for: lawyers and in-house counsel whose organization has a Harvey contract, especially in large organizations and on international matters.
“Assistant”: questions and first drafts
You ask a question or request a text, with or without attached documents. For a question, Harvey answers in the conversation with references to the sources. For a text to draft, it opens an editor alongside, where you revise the draft.
“Vault”: a folder of thousands of documents
You store all the documents for a matter in a secure space, then query the whole set at once. A space accepts up to 100,000 files. It can be filled from iManage, SharePoint, or Google Drive.
“Review Tables”: compare in a table
Harvey reads each document in a batch and fills in a table: one row per document, one column per point to capture. You then ask the table itself questions to summarize or single out a case.

“Workflow Agents”: ready-made tasks

Nova’s advice
Harvey is not for personal purchase: the decision belongs to the firm or the legal department. If your organization already has it, ask for access. Otherwise, for an occasional need in French law, a French legal research tool or a well-supervised general-purpose assistant is often enough.
A first try, in 5 minutes
Your data. Your data stays in the region you choose, including Europe, and Harvey commits by contract not to use it to train its AI.
What it does less well
No individual access, no free trial, no public price. If your organization has no contract, you cannot try it.
In the help center’s list of legal sources that we reviewed, none is dedicated to French law. European Union law is covered by EUR-Lex. For a question of French law, check in a French database.
Have a contract summarized, with references to the clausesHarvey
In the sidebar, click “Assistant.”
Click “Files” and drop in a contract as a PDF or Word file. Choose a document you know well, so you can judge the result.
Paste the prompt below into the message box.
If you like, click “Improve”: Harvey rewords your request to make it more precise.
Click “Ask Harvey.”
In the answer, click each reference: the passage from the contract appears. Check that it really says what the summary claims.
The prompt to copy
Summarize this contract in ten points: parties, purpose, term, price, termination conditions, penalties, liability, confidentiality, governing law, unusual points. For each point, state the clause the information comes from.
Organization contract: custom pricing. Prices checked on October 3, 2026 on the vendor’s official page.
