Typeless pricing, use cases, and first steps

Typeless is a dictation tool. You press a key, you speak, and the text is written wherever your cursor is: an email, a message, a document. It does not transcribe word for word. It removes hesitations and repetitions, takes your mid-sentence corrections into account, and formats lists.

Typeless has a free plan. The recommended plan to start with: Free, $0. Prices checked on October 3, 2026 on the vendor’s official page.

What Typeless does

Who it’s for: anyone who writes a lot during the day: emails, messages, meeting notes, notes after an appointment.

Dictate in any app

You place the cursor in a text field, press the dictation key, and speak. The text is inserted there. It works in email, Slack, Teams, Word, Google Docs, Notion, or an assistant like ChatGPT.

Clean, formatted text

Typeless removes the “um”s, repetitions, and false starts. If you correct yourself (“Tuesday, no, Wednesday”), it keeps the right version. When you list points, it presents them as a list.

Speak in one language, write in another

You speak in your own language and the text is written directly in the language you chose, with natural phrasing. You set up your target languages once in the settings.

Also

  • “Ask anything”: ask by voice
  • Your style and your words
  • The phone keyboard
  • Your dictation history

What the free plan includes

All the dictation, translation, and “Ask anything” features, with a limited number of words per week. The vendor does not state that number on its pricing page.

Nova’s advice

Stay on the free plan for a week or two: you will see whether dictating becomes a habit. If you hit the limit every week, take Pro on the yearly plan. Paying monthly costs more than twice as much.

A first try, in 3 minutes

Your data. Your voice is processed on Typeless’s servers, then deleted right away; the history stays on your device.

What it does less well

  • You need an internet connection: your voice is processed on servers in the United States, even though it is not kept there. For highly sensitive conversations, check your company’s policy.
  • The free plan is limited in words per week, with no figure shown on the pricing page.
Dictate a follow-up email without touching the keyboardTypeless
  1. Open your email and create a new message. Click in the text area.
  2. Hold the Fn key (Mac) or right Alt key (Windows). White bars move: Typeless is listening.
  3. Speak naturally, hesitations included: “Hi, um, I’m following up on the quote, I mean the proposal we sent Monday…”
  4. Release the key. The text is written in the message, punctuated and without the “um”s.
  5. Review before sending. To cancel a dictation in progress, press Esc: the text stays available in the history.
