Krea pricing, use cases, and first steps

Krea is an online studio for creating and enhancing images and videos. It brings together its own models and those of many other vendors. Its signature is “Realtime” mode: you draw a few shapes or type a sentence, and the image changes instantly, with no waiting. It also sharpens images that are blurry or too small.

Krea has a free plan. The recommended plan to start with: Free, $0. Prices checked on October 3, 2026 on the vendor’s official page.

What Krea does

Who it’s for: people who find a visual idea by trial and error: marketing, communications, interior layout, product design.

“Realtime”: create live

You draw shapes, type a sentence, or drop in an image, and the result updates instantly. Krea can also start from your camera feed or your screen. There’s no queue and no button to press.

Create an image with the model of your choice

You describe the image and pick a model, or let “Auto” decide. Each request returns several options, from 2 to 4 depending on the model. You can attach an image to set a style or a composition.

“Enhancer”: make an image sharp and larger

You drop in an image that’s blurry or too small, then choose a model and an upscale factor (up to 8x). Krea rebuilds the details. Keep in mind: it imagines what a sharper version would look like. It doesn’t recover what was really there.

Also

  • “Edit”: retouch an area, the lighting, the framing
  • Create a short video clip
  • “Krea Agent”: one request, several steps
  • Teach Krea your style
  • “Nodes”: chain tools together and turn them into a mini app

Krea pricing

Prices published in dollars, checked on October 3, 2026. On individual plans, unused units don’t roll over. Extra unit packs must be used within 90 days. A refund is possible if you used fewer than 650 units and made fewer than 20 creations in the month. The iPhone app also offers a “Basic” plan at €10 per month, which isn’t on the website’s pricing page.

What the free plan includes

100 compute units per day, no credit card needed. Access to image models, one creation at a time, upscaling up to 2K, commercial license. The pricing page includes no video creation on the free plan. Your creations may be visible to other users.

Nova’s advice

Stay on the free plan to discover “Realtime” and create a few images: it already includes the commercial license. Pro, at $35 per month, is only worth it if you create videos or very large images. For a team, Business quickly becomes the better deal: a single price for up to 50 people.

What it does less well

  • Upscaling invents details. On a face, a piece of text, or a logo, the result can be sharp but wrong. Always compare with the original.
  • Cost varies a lot from one model to another: 8 units for an image with Krea 1, more than 180 with others. Your 100 free units can go in a single request.

  1. On the dashboard, open “Realtime.”
  2. Paste the prompt below into the prompt box. The image appears on the right, with no button to click.
  3. Choose “Draw” mode. With the shape tools, place a beige rectangle in the center and a green circle off to the side.
  4. Move the circle, change its size or its color. On the right, the image follows every move.
  5. Change a word in the prompt, for example “light wood” to “concrete.” When you like the result, download it or upscale it.

A trade show booth seen from the front: a light wood reception counter, a large screen on the wall, two green plants, warm lighting, photorealistic style.
