What Recraft does
Who it’s for: people who need icons, illustrations, or consistent visuals for documents, a website, or a presentation.
Vector images you can edit shape by shape
Recraft creates vector drawings directly: logos, icons, pictograms. They export as SVG and stay sharp at any size. You can also convert an existing image with the “Vectorize” button and reduce its number of colors.
The assistant that creates as you chat
In the “Chat” tab, you explain what you need as you would to a designer. The assistant suggests, creates, then edits while keeping track of the conversation. It also suggests the next step: upscale, try another style.

What the free plan includes
30 credits per day, two images at most per request, three uploaded images per day. Your images are public, they belong to Recraft, and they cannot be used commercially. No option to buy extra credits.
Nova’s advice
The free plan is for seeing whether the tool suits you, nothing more: the images are public and do not belong to you. For work, choose Basic at $12 per month: private images that are yours and can be used in your documents. Move to Pro if you run out of your 1,000 credits.

What it does less well
- On the free plan, you do not own your images and you are not allowed to use them commercially. That is a real trap for work use.
- Not every image vectorizes well. A photo, a 3D render, or a heavily textured illustration produces an SVG file with flaws.
Create a vector icon for a presentationRecraft- In your project, open the “Create” tab in the left panel.
- Choose a vector model (their names contain “Vector”), then paste the prompt below.
- Press Enter. The icon appears on the canvas within seconds.
- Click the image. In the right panel, try an edit: remove the background, or change a color.
- Click “Export” at the top right and choose SVG. You can drag this file into PowerPoint or Google Slides: it stays sharp even at very large sizes.
