AI training for entrepreneurs

AI looks up the numbers for your market, builds a first financial forecast, and puts your project in writing. It doesn’t validate the idea for you: your future customers, your banker, and your accountant do that.

What to check

A cited source isn’t always summarized correctly: open each link before you use a number in your file. The free plan gives you one “Research” report per month.

Run a first market studyPerplexity · “Research”
  1. In Perplexity, click in the search field, open the mode selector, and choose “Research.”
  2. Paste the prompt below, with your business and your area in the brackets.
  3. Wait for the report, then click each number to open the source. Set aside the sites that have something to sell you.
  4. Export the report, then go see three competitors and ten potential customers: the field is what confirms it.

The prompt to copy

I am preparing to start a [business type] company in [city or area], for [consumers, businesses of a given type]. Do a first market study. Gather: the size and trend of the market in France according to public sources (INSEE, trade associations, industry studies); the number of companies in the sector in my area; the established competitors, with what they offer and their listed prices; customers’ habits and expectations; the regulations, degrees, or permits required to operate. Give the source and the date of each number. Separate facts from estimates. End with what the sources can’t tell me and what I will have to check in the field.

Ground rules

The rules to follow with AI in this job

Always do this

  • A market number, a threshold, or a rate goes into your file only after you have read the official source. Social security and tax rules change every year.
  • The legal structure, the tax regime, and the company’s articles of association are decided with an accountant or an attorney. AI prepares you for the meeting; it doesn’t replace it.
  • Your forecast commits you in front of the bank: every assumption must be yours, and you must be able to explain it without the screen.
  • Your idea, your prices, and your first customers’ contact details don’t need to feed an AI’s training: check this setting in each tool before you start.

Never hand this to AI

  • Choosing your legal structure or your VAT regime based only on an assistant’s answer.
  • Presenting a bank with a forecast whose formulas and assumptions you haven’t checked.
  • Having fake customer reviews or made-up references written for your site.
