AI training for professional coaches

What is said in a session stays between you and your client: AI has no place there. It helps you around the session: preparing your questions, cleaning up your notes, writing your proposals, and getting your name out.

What to check

You are responsible for the responses you receive: ask only for what you need, nothing about health, and delete them when the engagement ends. If the employer is paying, the responses are never passed on to it. Tally’s menus are in English only; the form itself can be in another language.

Send a questionnaire before the first sessionTally · “Create with AI”
  1. On the Tally dashboard, click “New form,” then “Create with AI.” Paste the prompt below.
  2. Review each question. To fix something, click “Ask AI” and write what you want to change.
  3. Click “Publish,” open the link, and fill in the form yourself once.
  4. Send the link with the confirmation of the first appointment. Delete the responses when the engagement ends.

The prompt to copy

Create a questionnaire in English to fill in before a first professional coaching session. Warm, respectful tone, ten minutes at most. An introduction: the answers are read by me alone and stay confidential, and no question is required. Questions: first name, current role in a few words, what brings the person here today, what they would like to see changed in six months, what they have already tried, what a successful engagement would look like for them, their constraints on days and times, their preference between video call and in person. If they answer that the coaching is paid for by their employer, show a question about what they know of the company’s request. No questions about health.

Ground rules

The rules to follow with AI in this job

Always do this

  • Confidentiality is the foundation of the profession, and your code of ethics commits you to it. Nothing that identifies a client (name, company, job title, situation) goes into a consumer assistant.
  • A session is not recorded or transcribed without the person’s explicit consent, given beforehand, which they can withdraw. When in doubt, take your notes yourself, after the session.
  • Your session notes are personal data: keep as little as possible, in a protected place, and delete them when the engagement ends, as GDPR requires.
  • AI prepares your questions, your outlines, and your texts. The relationship, the listening, and the choice of what you say to the person are up to you, and your supervision.

Never hand this to AI

  • Asking an assistant to analyze the personality, psychological state, or health of a client: that is neither your role nor its role.
  • Sending a client a message written by AI without rewriting it: they expect your presence, not a block of text.
  • Replacing your supervision with a conversation with an assistant.
