What DeepL does
Who it’s for: anyone who reads or writes in another language at work: emails, quotes, contracts, presentations.
Translate a whole file
You upload a file and DeepL returns the same one, translated, with its layout. Accepted formats: PDF (even scanned), Word, PowerPoint, Excel, text, HTML, SRT subtitles, and images.
DeepL Write: correct and reword
In your own language, Write fixes spelling, grammar, and punctuation, and suggests smoother sentences. You can choose a style (business, academic, casual) and a tone (friendly, enthusiastic, diplomatic).

For a low-stakes text, the free version is enough. As soon as you translate work documents, choose Individual or ask your company for a plan: it is the only way to keep your texts from being used to improve DeepL. Write Pro can be added for €6.99 per month if you write a lot.

What it does less well
- The free version is not made for confidential documents: your texts can be used for training, and personal data is not allowed there. It also runs out fast: 1 file per month.
- A fluent translation is not always accurate. A number, a negation, or a legal term can slip. Have any document that commits the company reviewed.
