What to check

A product page commits the seller: composition, dimensions, compatibility, and claims (organic, origin, health) are checked against the spec sheet. On the free plan, a large file uses up the usage limit quickly: work in batches.

Write product pages for a new collectionClaude · “Projects,” then an Excel file to download
  1. In Claude’s left sidebar, open “Projects,” create a project called “Product pages,” and add your tone guide and five product pages you consider well done.
  2. In a chat inside the project, click the + button at the bottom left of the message box and attach the supplier’s spreadsheet.
  3. Paste the prompt below. Start with ten SKUs to set the tone, then run the rest in batches.
  4. Check materials, dimensions, and compatibility against the spec sheet, then import the file into your store.

The prompt to copy

Here is our supplier’s file for [the collection, the product line]: one row per SKU. For each row, write in English a title of at most [70] characters, a description of [80] words that opens with what the product is used for and not with the brand, five specs as a list (material, dimensions, care, compatibility, origin if it appears in the file), then a title and a description for search engines. Follow the tone of the product pages in the project: [plain and polite, short sentences]. Don’t make up any spec: if a piece of information is missing from the file, write “to be completed.” Return an Excel file with the same SKUs and one column per field.

Ground rules

The rules to follow with AI in this job

Always do this

  • A product page commits the seller: composition, dimensions, compatibility, origin, and claims are checked against the spec sheet, not in the AI’s text.
  • Order and review exports contain customer data: remove names, emails, addresses, and order numbers before you upload them to a consumer tool.
  • Prices, discounts, and promotion dates: reread everything before you approve. Advertising a price reduction is subject to specific rules: check them with your in-house counsel.
  • An edited photo or an AI-generated backdrop must not mislead the buyer about the product’s color, size, or material.

Never hand this to AI

  • Fabricating fake customer reviews or rewriting real ones.
  • Letting an agent decide a refund, a goodwill gesture, or a dispute on its own.
  • The full customer file or payment data in an assistant.
