AI training for electricians

AI doesn’t pull cable, and it replaces neither the code nor your measurements. It takes the evening work off your hands: the scope of work for the quote, the materials list, the service call report, the manufacturer’s manual, the invoice.

What to check

Wispr always sends your voice to its servers and does not work offline. The free plan stops at 1,000 words per week on phone. Reread the measured values: a misheard number in a report can be used against you. Dictate while parked.

  1. Before you leave, open an email or a text message to the customer on your phone and tap the text area.
  2. On iPhone, hold the globe icon on the keyboard and choose “Wispr Flow.” On Android, tap the “Flow” bubble.
  3. Dictate following the outline below, the way you would explain it to the customer. The text is written with punctuation, without the hesitations.
  4. Reread the values and part numbers, then send. Add your trade terms in the “Dictionary” tab so they are spelled right next time.

Ground rules

The rules to follow with AI in this job

Always do this

  • The code, the guides, and the manufacturers’ manuals come before an assistant’s answer. Wire sizes, breaker ratings, ground-fault protection, bathroom zones: you set them and you check them in the text.
  • You sign the quote and the certificate of compliance. Your liability and your ten-year builder’s liability insurance (mandatory in France) are on the line, not the tool’s.
  • A customer’s name, address, and photos of their home are personal data: hide them when you can, and don’t publish anything without their consent.
  • Incentives and VAT rates change often. Point the customer to the official page, and don’t write any incentive amount on a quote.

Never hand this to AI

  • Having an assistant size an installation: wire size, breaker rating, voltage drop, protection.
  • Troubleshooting a fault on an assistant’s answer alone, without measuring and without locking out.
  • Letting a quote or an invoice prepared by an agent go out without rereading the confirmation screen.
