AI doesn’t drive and doesn’t find rides. It helps while you’re parked: a transfer quote, an invoice for a direct customer, what the week really left you once expenses are out, a conversation with a foreign customer. Never at the wheel.

What to check

The price you give at booking commits you: you are the one who calculates it. For taxis, fares are regulated, and the assistant doesn’t know them. The customer’s name, address, and flight number stay in your messaging app.

Reply to a transfer requestChatGPT · “Chat” mode
  1. While parked, work out your price yourself: distance, duration, tolls, waiting time, the empty return trip.
  2. In ChatGPT, in “Chat” mode, paste the prompt below with the route and your price. Leave out the customer’s name and exact address.
  3. Check the date, the time, and the amount, then copy the reply into your messaging app and add the address.
  4. Save the prompt in your phone’s notes: next time, you only change what is in brackets.

The prompt to copy

I’m an independent private driver in [city]. A customer is asking for a price for: [route, date, time, number of passengers and bags, flight or train]. My price, which I worked out myself: €[amount] including all taxes, [tolls included, 30 minutes of waiting included]. Write a reply of six lines at most: confirm the route, the pickup date and time, the vehicle ([model, number of seats]), the price and what it includes, my cancellation terms ([free up to 24 hours before]), and how to confirm the booking. Courteous, direct, and formal. Do not change any number. Then give the same reply in Spanish.

Ground rules

The rules to follow with AI in this job

Always do this

  • Never hold your phone while driving. Everything described here is done while stopped, parked, between two rides.
  • The price you give at booking commits you, and taxi fares are regulated: the assistant writes, you set the number.
  • A customer’s name, address, schedule, and flight number are personal data. Knowing when a home is empty has no place in a consumer assistant.
  • Taxis approved for medical transport: no health information, no patient names, no transport prescriptions in an AI tool.

Never hand this to AI

  • Asking an assistant what you have to report or pay: it can be wrong. URSSAF, the tax office, or your accountant will answer.
  • Having it calculate your price: it knows neither your expenses, nor the tolls, nor the traffic.
  • Using voice or the screen while you’re driving, even for a translation.
