AI training for osteopaths

AI doesn’t examine anyone and doesn’t decide on a technique or a referral. It helps you write your after-session advice, film an exercise, read the studies, and present your practice without promises. Your patients’ data stays out of online assistants.

What to check

You approve every sentence: the handout is your responsibility. It does not mention any medical treatment and does not promise any result. No name or reason for the visit of a real patient in the conversation.

Write the after-session advice handoutClaude · Word file, in the conversation
  1. Write down or dictate what you usually say after this type of session, in your own words: possible reactions, activity, exercises, when to call you back.
  2. In Claude, paste the prompt below, followed by your notes. No name, nothing from a patient file.
  3. Reread each sentence as if you were saying it to the patient, and correct it.
  4. Ask: “Give me a one-page Word file,” then check by hand the advice that applies to each patient.

The prompt to copy

You are helping me format the advice handout I give after a session, as an osteopath. Typical reason for the visit: [lower back pain, neck discomfort, follow-up for an athlete]. Here is what I usually say, in my own words: [your notes]. Write one page: what you may feel over the next two days, what I advise, then a box titled “See a doctor right away if,” with only the signs I gave. Short sentences, no jargon, no promise of results. Do not add any advice, any medication, any exercise, or any time frame I did not give. Add a checkbox in front of each piece of advice, and end with the practice’s phone number: [number].

Ground rules

The rules to follow with AI in this job

Always do this

  • Professional secrecy and health data: no name, no reason for a visit, no imaging report, no photo or video of a patient in a consumer tool.
  • The examination, the choice of techniques, and the decision to refer to a physician are yours. AI formats what you have decided: it suggests nothing for a patient.
  • A study is not a protocol: read the whole paper, limitations included, and compare it with the official guidelines.
  • Your communication informs without promising: no claim of a cure, no list of conditions, no patient testimonial. Every published text is reread with that in mind.

Never hand this to AI

  • Describing a patient to it to ask what to do, which technique to choose, or whether to refer them to a physician.
  • Showing it an X-ray, an imaging report, or a prescription to ask what it thinks.
  • Publishing a generated text about what osteopathy “treats,” or a reply to a review that confirms a person came in.
